Promoting Literacy
Helping Children Thrive Through the Power of Reading
Too many children fall behind—not from a lack of potential, but from a lack of access. If they can’t read by third grade, they’re four times more likely to drop out of high school.
At Mending Broken Branches, we believe literacy is a legacy. When families read together, they build trust. When children learn to read, they learn to believe. And when communities invest in literacy, they plant seeds of hope that grow for generations.
Our Approach
Free Book Distribution
We provide age-appropriate books to children from birth through age 12, helping families build personal libraries at home. Whether it’s a bedtime story or a first chapter book, every title is a tool for imagination, bonding, and academic growth.
Planting Seeds, Nurturing Growth
We promote literacy by meeting families where they are—creating joyful, consistent opportunities to read, learn, and connect. Through school and childcare partnerships, we host read-alouds, literacy celebrations, and family events that bring stories to life and strengthen community ties.
Academic Impact
Strong literacy skills unlock every other subject. By investing early, we help children become confident readers, lifelong learners, and successful students—ready to thrive in school and beyond.
Summer Reading Camps
Our community-based reading camps prevent summer learning loss and foster a love for storytelling. Through games, crafts, and shared reading experiences, children develop confidence and curiosity that lasts throughout the year.
Join us in restoring access, nurturing potential, and rewriting futures—one book at a time.
