About Us
Welcome to Mending Broken Branches, where we believe literacy is legacy and every family deserves the tools to thrive. We serve children from birth through age 12 by providing free books, empowering fathers to read with their children, and building trust between families and educators.
Our programs — Promoting Literacy, DEAR Dad, and Family Engagement—are designed to mend what’s been broken and nurture what’s possible. Whether you're a parent, educator, donor, or community partner, you're part of the story we're writing: one of healing, learning, and generational change.
Our Mission
Mending Broken Branches champions early literacy and deep family engagement by ensuring every child — from infancy through age 12 — has access to books that spark imagination and growth.
Our Vision
We envision a world where every child is surrounded by books from birth, every family is equipped to champion early learning…
Cynthia Williams-Hills is the Founder of Mending Broken Branches and has spent the past 34 years teaching and advocating for children and families in the early childhood field. She is the previous owner of several childcare centers: New Generation Day Care and Center of Excellence Child Care and Academy.
“At Mending Broken Branches, we don’t just run programs. We tell stories. We create spaces where families feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.”
